Brendan Blood

Brendan wrote God is a DJ* because nobody else was going to write it, and because the people who were actually in those rooms are starting to forget.

He was there for the illegal raves — the fields, the convoys, the phone number you rang at ten o'clock to find out where you were going. He was there for the Haçienda when it stopped being a nightclub and started being something else entirely. And he was there at the start of a friendship with a quiet lad from North Wales who would shortly become the most famous DJ on earth.

The day job

When he isn't writing about house music, Brendan is a personal trainer with over twenty years behind him — an Advanced Level 3 PT with a diploma in sports psychology and performance nutrition. He's worked with Blackpool FC, Blackburn Rovers, St Helens RFC, and Olympic GB swimmers and athletes, and he runs BB Fitness across the North West.
